Welcome to Troop 4:8′s home page. 4:8? That’s right. We take our name from Philippians 4:8: “Finally, brothers and sisters, whatever is true, whatever is noble, whatever is right, whatever is pure, whatever is lovely, whatever is admirable—if anything is excellent or praiseworthy—think about such things.”
Scout Troop 4:8 strives for excellence in scouting. The number of Eagle Scouts we have produced testifies to this. But, as a church-sponsored troop, we are mindful of the more important goal of encouraging young men to excel in Christian virtues.
Troop 4:8 was chartered through Redeemer Bible Church in 2001. We have served the White Rock Community in East Dallas since that date through community clean-ups, food drives and service projects. Our boys come from diverse educational backgrounds with about 40% being home schooled, 30% attending private school, and 30% attending public school. Troop 4:8 has weekly meetings and its members have the opportunity to participate in 8-9 monthly week-end camp-outs each year plus a week long summer camp. If your son is 11 to 17 years old and interested in being part of a troop that is active and firmly grounded in Biblical principles….please, give us a try!
