Doug Hornok, senior pastor

Doug Hornok began his ministry at RBC in September 2009. He served as a regional director for the Christian Medical and Dental Associations before coming to Redeemer.

Doug graduated from the Philadelphia College of Bible in 1975 with a bachelor’s degree in Bible and from Dallas Theological Seminary in 1979, where he earned the Master of Theology degree. Since graduating from seminary, he has served as senior pastor of churches in North Dakota, Nebraska, Michigan and Oklahoma. He is a second-generation pastor, and his four brothers and brother-in-law all are DTS graduates.

Doug and his wife, Connie, met in college and have been married since June 1973. They have four adult children, two of whom are married, and three grandchildren. Doug loves to spend time with his family, enjoys snow skiing and is always ready for a round of golf.

Kent Barnard, pastor for pastoral care & business administration

Kent and Jane BarnardKent Barnard played an indispensable role in founding Redeemer Bible Church in 1999, and subsequently served as chairman of the Deacon Board for the congregation’s first nine years. He joined the staff full time in 2010. He works closely with Pastor Hornok to provide pastoral care to individuals in the congregation and also manages the church’s finances and facilities.

Kent previously served in senior leadership roles at other Christian organizations.

He was born and reared in Canyon, Texas, accepted Christ at a youth camp when he was 12, and later attended Dallas Bible College, where he majored in Christian Education. He and his wife, Jane, live in Dallas and have two adult daughters.

Jeremiah Bakk, Student Pastor

Jeremiah was born and raised in Alaska, and grew up in a Christ-centered home to a commercial fishing family. After high school, his deep love for God and for outdoor adventure led him to Camp Redcloud, a Christian adventure camp in the mountains of Lake City, Colorado. While at camp, Jeremiah served as head wrangler of the equestrian program, led wilderness pack trips, and taught rappelling, high-ropes, canoeing, rock climbing and mountain-biking. After four years and sensing a need for further biblical training and instruction, he moved to Houston and graduated from the College of Biblical Studies with a Bachelor degree in Organizational Leadership. While in college, he served on the staff of Tomball Bible Church as a student pastor. Jeremiah and his wife Ellie, met at Camp Redcloud and have been married for 6 years. They have two young and beautiful daughters, Josie and Lucy. Jeremiah is currently a ThM student at Dallas Theological Seminary, a habitual coffee drinker, a lover of all things Apple, and refuses to forget the feeling of a cold blast of snow on the face while skiing deep powder.

Heidi Regier, director of Children’s Ministries

Heidi grew-up in Dallas as the baby of the family with three older brothers. Her mother led her to Christ when she was five-years-old. When Heidi was sixteen, she traveled to China with her parents as they adopted her baby sister. A three-year-old sister also came home two years later. Heidi earned her B.A. in Church Music from Moody Bible Institute in 2003, an M.A. in Christian Education and her TESOL certificate from Dallas Seminary in 2006 and 2009. Heidi enjoys gardening, reading, biking, photography, playing different instruments, and spending time with her sisters.
